Juan Domingo Peron is a well known military officer and politician whose political career is considered to be a successful one. Juan Domingo Peron was elected as President of his country several times because the people of Argentina believed him and wanted him to improve their life. His name and his ideas as well as the name of his wife, Evita Peron became the legend of Argentina. Juan Peron developed a so called political movement called peronism.1
Although Juan Peron’s government lost its power, the ideas of peronism still exist in the current political ideology in Argentina. It proves the fact that his political career was a success.
THE MAJOR REASONS OF JUAN DOMINGO’S POLITICAL SUCCESS
Juan Peron’s political career had its ups and downs.2 It is known that the political success of Juan Peron is closely connected with his political ideas. He was a good strategist because he had enough experience and knowledge as a military man. He always wanted to be closer to the working class.
He tried to get support of proletarians and peasants andsucceeded in it.
The development of democracy in Argentina made it possible to unite the vast masses of the working class people and create a new political movement which had the major goal – to built a fair state. Peron was the leader of this movement.3
In 1946, he won at the elections and became the President of Argentina. He and his Justicialist party developed their program of building a Justicialist state which must resist communism and capitalism. All the people in Argentina wanted to believe their leader. Moreover, Juan Peron’s wife also had a great influence on the working class people at that time. It is also known that Peron’s political party was divided into two parts: male part and female part. His wife was at the head of the female part. The policy of social maneuvering satisfied the requirements of the upper class and at the same time granted some rebates to the working class. Labor unions played an important role in the country and became a part of the state apparatus. Peron was known as a patriot of his country due to his flexible internal and external policy.4 The above mentioned facts are the major reasons of Juan Peron’s political success.

THE MAJOR FACTORS WHICH PLAYED A CENTRAL ROLE IN HIS POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENTS
It is known that the government of Juan Peron is considered to be the most progressive in the history of the country. Juan Peron is famous for a great deal of different political achievements most of which are connected with the needs of the working class:
the development of trade unions;
free education;
paid vocations for workers;
creating low-income housing projects;
free medical care for all the workers;
building a number of workers’ recreation centers.5
There were a lot of other changes which had direct relation to the improvement of the life of the working class. The workers of Argentina supported Juan Peron. For example, on 17 October, in 1945, there was a labor demonstration on the streets of Buenos Aires. The workers demanded to release Peron from prison where he taken by his opponents.

Eva Duarte was a woman who always supported Juan’s ideas and was very popular as an actress and the defender of women rights. She became his second wife.
Juan Peron also paid special attention to the development of the country’s economy. He created the Argentina Institute for Promotion of Exchange which was engaged in management of all exports. A great deal of products produced in Argentina such as wheat, cattle, vegetables were sold abroad.
So, the above mentioned factors played an important role in his political achievements.7
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, it is necessary to say that Juan Peron’s political career was successful due to several factors. First of all, his social reforms and special relation to labor unions guaranteed him a widespread support of Argentine masses. Secondly, his second wife Evita Peron was very popular in the political sphere and even helped Juan Peron to escape the imprisonment in 1945. Moreover, Juan Peron was a rather ruthless man in relation to his opponents. His policy can be related to the form of dictatorship. However, it is necessary to add that there were both ups and downs in his career. Peron was exiled from Argentina for 10 years.

Although he was allowed to return to Argentina in 1972, and even was re-elected as the President of Argentina, he could not complete his plans. He died of heart attack in 1973. Today, Peron’s policy is a benchmark for many politicians.
