September 11, 2001 Essay

I can say that the events of September 11, 2001 affected me personally and they have they changed the country. Also, American relations with other countries were affected by the attack and they also changed.
An act of terrorism on Sept. 11, 2001 (sometimes referred to as simply 9 / 11) can be described as a series of coordinated suicide terrorist attacks that occurred in the United States of America. Officially, the responsibility for these attacks lies with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. That morning nineteen terrorists, allegedly related to al-Qaida, divided into four groups, captured four scheduled passenger airliners. Each group had at least one member, past the initial flight training, as stated in 9/11 Attacks.
The invaders sent two of the airliners into the towers of the World Trade Center, located in the southern part of Manhattan in New York. American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the tower of the WTC-1 (north), and Flight 175 United Airlines – in the World Trade Center Tower 2 (south). As a result, the two towers collapsed, causing severe destruction of surrounding structures. A third plane (Flight 77 American Airlines) was sent to the Pentagon, near Washington. Passengers and crew of the fourth airliner (Flight 93 United Airlines) have tried to take control plane from terrorists, and the plane crashed in a field near the town of Shanksville in Pennsylvania. This day forever changed the perception of the world of Americans, as described in America’s Day of Terror.
In addition to the 19 terrorists, as a result of attacks were killed 2,974 people, and another 24 were missing. Most of the dead were civilians. The official version of what happened has been criticized by some journalists, scholars and witnesses to the tragedy. There were also conducted independent investigations, some of which were filmed documentaries, as described in 9/11 Attacks.
September 11, 2001 resulted in vast political implications. The attacks were condemned by the media and governments around the world, and the general idea expressed sympathy for the Americans the French newspaper Le Monde, wrote, “We are all Americans” («Nous sommes tous Amйricains»). The most well-known exceptions are the Palestinians, openly showed their joy over the attacks on America. Also, journalists reported on the demonstrations in Beijing in support of the attacks, which involved Chinese students. The leaders of most Middle Eastern countries, including Afghanistan, condemned the attacks. Iraq has become a notable exception, officially stating that “the American cowboys are reaping the fruits of his crimes against humanity.”
According to 9/11 Chair: Attack Was Preventable, “For the first time, the chairman of the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks is saying publicly that 9/11 could have and should have been prevented. This is a very, very important part of history and we’ve got to tell it right,” said Thomas Kean.
Many countries such as Britain, India, Australia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Canada, Russia, Pakistan, Jordan, Mauritius, Uganda and Zimbabwe, introduced the “anti-terrorist” changes in laws, and blocked bank accounts of the companies and individuals that were suspected of collaborating with al-Qaida. The relationships between countries changed and additional security measures were taken. Since that moment the world has never been the same. Precise attention to everything, including media and foreigners in the United Stated attracted people’s attention and everything suspicious was taken into consideration, as stated in 9/11 Chair: Attack Was Preventable.
I can say that I have changed my views on many things and I have started to value the safety and security. This attack was a terrible lesson for all people and politicians and it has also shown that in the global world all people are in danger. Till nowadays people believe in different theories, listen to different opinions considering what happened on September 11, 2001. Although there is no clear explanation of the attacks on the United States, the main reasons for suffering are the innocent people who were killed in the attacks. The actions of those who helped to organize these attacks can not be justified, as these people can only be called terrorists. It is very difficult to accept the fact that so many people died and could not be saved, that these attacks were not prevented, that there are no Trade Center anymore and that people do not feel safe in the country, as described in America’s Day of Terror.
All in all, the attacks of September 11, 2001 have caused a lot of controversy and suffering among people. The entire world was indifferent and supported American people during this difficult time. The attacks were horrible and made people feel unsafe and miserable. At the same time, people united and faced the attacks bravely. There were many victims that accepted the threat and save others, among them were many firemen and policemen. Americans are proud of the way they coped with the attacks and how people behaved during the disaster. It is important to be united and to resist the threat together.
